Telford MP, Lucy Allan has once again supported Children’s Takeover Day by welcoming two pupils from Old Park Primary School in Malinslee.
Children’s Takeover day is an initiative ran by the Children’s Commissioner which encourages organisations to throw open their doors and welcome children in to see firsthand how workplaces function and to have their voices heard.
Having supported the Takeover Challenge last year, Lucy was happy to again accept Old Park Primary’s request for pupils to takeover her office for the day.
In a fully packed day pupils KC and Saira were able to join Lucy and her staff in a number of different events including attending the Armistice Day service at the Town Park, meeting Chief Constable Anthony Bangham and meeting journalists from BBC Radio Shropshire.
Speaking at the end of the Takeover, Lucy Allan MP said: “It’s been great having KC and Saira join us for the day and I hope they take lots away from it.
Although unable to vote for a number of years yet, I’m just as much their MP as I am adults and I’m pleased I was able to hear their views on the various events from the day.
The Takeover Challenge is an excellent initiative and I would encourage as many workplaces as possible to take part in it. KC and Saira were engaging and thoughtful, and an absolute credit to their school.”
