As many of you will know, this year marks the 100th anniversary of the Representation of the People Act - a watershed moment in our history, and true symbol of democracy, that gave 8.6 million women the right to vote for the first time.
As part of celebrations to mark #Vote100, the Government has created a £5 million fund to celebrate, educate, and encourage more women to participate so that they have an equal voice.
There are various events planned around the country to mark this important milestone, and you can find details of your nearest at: https://nvite.com/community/celebratingvotesforwomen
There is also a Women’s Vote Centenary Small Grant Scheme, which will be dispensing grants large and small - of between £300 to £125,000 - to local groups that would like mark the centenary with a community event.
