Telford MP Lucy Allan spent Friday afternoon at Shropshire Council’s Shirehall for an afternoon packed briefing session with Shropshire’s other MPs.
Lucy regularly meets with Shropshire’s other MPs for updates from key public sector bodies to ensure she is fully informed of proposals and plans that may affect Telford.
On Friday Lucy attended:
- a conference call with Vikky Taylor from NHS ENgland and David Evans Shropshire, and Telford Wrekin’s Chief Executive for an update on Future Fit
- a briefing from the John Redmond and Rod Hammerton, Chief and Deputy Chief Fire Officer respectively of Shropshire Fire and Rescue
- a briefing from Graham Wynn (chair), Gill Hamer (Director) Paul Hinkins and Mandy Thorne (Vice Chairs) from the Marches LEP
- a briefing from David Coull from Coverage Care and Nicky Jacques Interim Chief Officer Shropshire Partners in Care regarding the Care Sector
Commenting on the briefings, Lucy said: “It is vitally important for MPs to know what is going on in their constituencies. These regular meetings not only facilitate this, but allow Shropshire’s MPs to all come together to other scrutinise and support to those bodies delivering public services that affect all our constituencies.
“Being able to discuss the big issues affecting all of Shropshire, such as Future Fit, allows us as MPs to give a county wide review of how proposals affect our constituents and offer changes that we feel could improve services.”
