Telford MP Lucy Allan met with bus chiefs from Arriva today to discuss the significant changes to Telford’s bus routes.
Lucy Allan MP said: “A massive shake up in bus services across the borough is due to come into effect on 19th July.
“The entire network is being re numbered, some routes are being withdrawn and others re-routed.
“Naturally bus users are concerned about the impact this will have and there has been considerable confusion around these sweeping changes."
“I am grateful to the officers of Telford & Wrekin Council and Arriva for taking the time to meet with me. Arriva has been very willing to listen to the concerns residents have.
“Arriva has assured me that the changes will be closely monitored and that where difficulties occur they will be willing to work to find solutions.
“I will be asking for a report back from Arriva once the new school year starts in September.
“If you have an any queries about how these changes will affect you there are drop information sessions across the borough or you can call 0344 800 44 11”

Just off to meet Arriva bosses at the Arriva depot on Stafford Park to discuss the new bus routes. I had a constructive discussion with the MD of the UK Bus Network earlier this week. Last week I wrote to the Minister for Transport on this issue and I have tabled a Parliamentary question. Last week I wrote to Cllr McClemments, T&W's Cabinet Member for Transport to offer my full support in working together on this issue.
