Telford’s MP is keeping a close dialogue with Severn Trent after many residents reported disruption to their water supplies.
Severn Trent have put the disruption down to a huge spike in demand for water that has resulted in some airlocks in the system. This air stops water from getting around the network and into resident’s homes.
Severn Trent have given the MP assurances that they have teams on the ground working to clear the airlocks and are moving water into the local area with fleet of tankers and injecting water directly into the pipes to help return supplies to customers.
Severn Trent have also informed Lucy Allan that they are in contact with the Shropshire local resilience forum and are working with them to deliver bottled water to the most vulnerable people in the area. The bottled water collection point is located at Tesco in Park Avenue, Madeley, TF7 5AB.
Lucy Allan said:
“I am concerned about my constituents who have experienced two nights of disruption to their water supply during this particularly hot weather.
“Severn Trent are continuing to update me on the water supply disruption affecting some areas in Telford.
“They have given me assurances that they have engineers on the ground working to correct the situation and that bottled water is being delivered to vulnerable residents.
“I will continue to work with Severn Trent to bring this disruption to an end as soon as possible.”
