A Telford youngster is celebrating after winning a Christmas card design competition organised by Telford community campaigner Lucy Allan.
Rosie-Jane Jones aged 4, who is in the reception class at Newdale Primary School in Telford, entered the competition.
Her winning design, of a skating snowman surrounded by presents, was up against tough competition, including entries from schools, after-school clubs, cubs, scouts and other children's groups across Telford.
Rosie-Jane scooped the top prize of £150 for her school, as well as a Christmas chocolate tree. Rosie-Jane's design will be printed up into a Christmas card and used by Lucy Allan to send to community group across Telford, as well as being sent to the Prime Minister at No.10 Downing Street.
Lucy Allan said: “There were so many funny, heartwarming and imaginative entries. It put a huge smile on my face each time an entry dropped into my email inbox."
“It was hard to pick a winner. Rosie-Jane’s entry was chosen because of its sense of fun and simplicity. It represents all the excitement of Christmas that every child feels. I particularly liked the really imaginative idea of a skating snowman!"
“I’d like to thank all the entrants for their creative efforts and great designs. The top five runners-up will receive a surprise present before Christmas."
