Telford MP, Lucy Allan was delighted to invite Telford businessmen James Beirne, Chief Executive of Midland Alloy and Paul Hinkins, Director of Business Watch Guarding Ltd to a reception hosted by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne MP at No.11 Downing Street.
Both James and Paul are members of the Telford Business Board with Paul currently serving as its Chair.
The Chancellor’s reception on 11 January was for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) from across the Midlands to have the opportunity to meet with the Chancellor and ask him about his economic plans as well as showcase their businesses.
The Chancellor spoke of the importance of SMEs to the UK economy and role that the West Midland’s Engine has in contributing towards the Country's future economic growth.
Commenting on the reception, Lucy Allan MP said: “I was delighted to be able to introduce Paul and James to the Chancellor. We were able to update the Chancellor on Telford's fantastic progress in attracting new business and the great opportunities Telford can offer businesses relocating or starting up."
