The Government has responded to Telford's online petition to prevent the overnight closure of PRH’s A&E.
“The Trust with NHS support is making every effort to avoid overnight closure of Telford’s A&E, but has plans in place if it is unavoidable. This is a temporary measure, to safeguard patients’ safety.”

Local MP Lucy Allan has applied for a Westminster Hall Debate to allow the opportunity for Parliament to debate this and get a public response from Ministers. Ms Allan also raised this during Health Questions yesterday in Parliament with Minister of State Stephen Barclay MP where she called into question the competence of the Trust's Management. Ms Allan is meeting with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) shortly to press the case for Special Measures and for assistance from NHS Improvement to support the senior management team.
Lucy Allan said:
“I am really impressed with the way the community is working together to fight these closures. I want to thank everyone for their support for the work we are doing to source the staff we need.
"There are very serious concerns around the competence of the senior management. In addition NHS Improvement has failed to support the senior management and give them the help they so badly need to deal with the many crisis the Trust faces.
“I am continuing to work with NHS bodies including the CQC and in Parliament, and doing everything I can to ensure we find a solution but it is time for NHS Improvement to step up to the plate and help sort this out.”
