MPs celebrate centenary of the Representation of the People Act

Today marks the centenary of the Representation of the People Act 1918 - a landmark piece of legislation that gave 8.6 million women the right to vote for the first time.

There are numerous celebrations and events planned, both at Parliament and around the country, to mark this important anniversary.
