Lucy Allan MP has today praised Theresa’s May’s speech to the Conservative Party Conference that set out the Prime Minister’s commitment to implementing policies that will benefit Telford.
Commenting on the speech, Lucy Allan MP said: “Theresa’s speech will have resonated with Telford.
“Having spoken about the fourth industrial revolution, improving social mobility and succeeding outside of the EU over the last few months, I was delighted that Theresa May covered these exact same issues. These are issues that are important to Telford.
“Theresa’s pledge to lead a country that works for everyone and not just the privileged few is exactly what Telford wants to hear.
“I am particularly pleased that Theresa stated a change is to come as we exit the European Union. As Telford voted nearly two to one to leave the EU this is completely in tune with feelings locally. Telford felt that they were being ignored and left behind by Brussels. Like me, Theresa recognises these feelings and said so herself during a leadership husting.
“Theresa May is going to lead a government that speaks and works for Telford. I am confident that policy will reflect that be it on junior doctors, raising school attainment or supporting SMEs. These are the issues that I care about and I am pleased that our government carers too.”
