Lucy Allan MP attended the opening of a new youth training centre in Telford.
The MP attended the opening of the GCG Training Circle in the Wrekin Housing Trust building in Telford Town Centre.
The scheme will give young people access to training and apprenticeships.
Lucy Allan MP said: “I am so pleased that the Careers Circle has chosen to come to Telford to help local young people into work. Everyone has the ability to make a positive contribution to society. For many, making that first step into the workplace can prove to be an enormous challenge for a whole range of reasons; sometimes that talent and potential is wasted.
“GCG will be working with local schools to support young people into training, apprentices and work, offering encouragement and guidance as well a practical help and skill. Organisations like GCG will make a massive difference to Telford’s future.”
Alex Cole, GCG Chief Operating Officer said: “We’re delighted to be part of an inspirational Telford community where businesses and organisations are switched on to challenges and new opportunities.
“The companies and people we’ve met are keen to engage with a diverse pipeline of talent waiting to be discovered and unlocked in schools and colleges and would relish more active engagement with the long-term unemployed.”
