After the visit Lucy Allan MP said: “It was hugely enjoyable to visit Holmer Lake Primary school and talk to pupils about a range of topics. Pupils asked thought provoking questions and their enthusiasm and interest in democracy and how it affects their community was evident.
“As a former governor of Holmer Lake Primary it was a pleasure to visit the school, speak with staff and meet a new group of pupils. Holmer Lake Primary is a fantastic primary school and the pupils are a credit to their teachers.”
Cllr Nicola Lowery added: “It was wonderful to spend time with the pupils at Holmer Lake Primary school and to have the opportunity to discuss our role in the community as politicians. We talked about the main principles of democracy and the pupils had some excellent ideas about what they would like to see happen in their communities. It was a great afternoon and it was brilliant to see the younger members of our communities so engaged and enthusiastic about where they live.”
